This 3-hour intensive workshop addresses the biggest challenge facing IT & engineering staffing firms today –finding and securing the right talent for their clients.

During this hands-on workshop (requires a laptop), you will be exposed to new ideas and creative solutions with an in-depth review of the tools to use and the online resources available to source technical talent (including finding potential candidates that others won’t). Plus you’ll gain an understanding of how to attract the attention of passive candidates. Learn searching and sourcing methods, tips on LinkedIn, Github, StackOverflow, and how to combine various sources. Learn to build custom search engines and alerts using terminology variations and synonyms.

Participants will review technical terminology such as, “front-end”, “back-end”, “full stack”, “open source”, Hadoop, and more. Specifics of different roles such as Developer, Data Scientist, QA Engineer, Build Engineer, DBA, Network Admin, etc., will be discussed. Understanding technical terminology is critical for navigating searches, and more importantly, the talent you are recruiting want to know you understand the value their skills bring to the position.

To close the workshop, we will host a Sourcing Challenge!

The Tech Toolkit
Facilitator: Alison Daley, CEO,
Recruiting Innovation

A primer for enhanced communication with technical people: Knowing how they think, what they say, what they do and understanding their language.

The Tech Toolkit Workshop will provide you with a systemized way to engage with technical clients and candidates while also speeding up your comprehension of new technical roles.

One big pain point in the world of tech recruiting is that learning about technology is modular, piecemeal, and inconsistent. Enter the Alignment Framework™: the tech toolkit designed to help talent professionals have more authentic relationships with their technical clients and candidates.

In this hands-on workshop you will be introduced to three tools from the product design process that elevates our role from note taker to value-add consultant in the technical recruiting process. This framework enables us to quickly learn about new roles, establish credibility with technical professionals, and provides an easy-to-follow conversation template for technical intakes and interviews.

We will then leverage this toolkit to learn about the most in-demand tech roles in the market. With each role, you will learn about the workflow, junior & senior level profiles, and the key technical terms and tools most utilized by this discipline.

After this workshop, you will have the confidence, the toolkit, and the knowledge you need to recruit the best technical talent. Your clients will quickly see that you are a talent professional that gets it.

The workshop is specifically designed for: Technical recruiters, business development professionals, account managers, or anyone who wants to elevate their communication with a technical audience.
