Upcoming Dallas Chapter Meetings:

Techserve Luncheon - Millennials in the Workforce

Date: Thursday, May 16, 2019
Time: 11:30 AM
Location: Preston Park Financial Center, 4965 Preston Park Blvd. Plano, TX 75093

Millennials already are the largest segment in the workplace. Within the next two years, 50 percent of the U.S. workforce is expected to be made up of Millennials. It will be 75 percent by 2030, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Companies today have to be prepared to meet the needs of Millennial employees. We will have a short presentation on demographics, workforce, and background, followed by a Millennial Panel Discussion to share with us their job interests, priorities, and nature of a job search.

Our panel of Millennial professionals in the DFW workplace:

  • Jennifer Goebel - UBER
  • Nick Echevarria - American Airlines
  • Kim Malin - Bordens
  • Katt Anderson - Catalyst Health Network
  • Mitch Miller - ClubCorp

Here are some examples of insights that will be shared:
  1. To a Millennial, a job has to have more meaning than just collecting a paycheck. Millennials want to have a purpose to what they are doing and meaningful life.

  2. Millennials know everything there is to know about social media because they are living it. They are constantly perusing Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc., - it’s how they share and get information.

  3. Millennials are extremely team-oriented, enjoy collaborating and building friendships with colleagues.

  4. Millennials are waiting longer to have children and to buy houses. Making sure to be financially stable before making life-changing decisions is what makes millennials different than any other generation.
